What is Integrative Psychiatry and why is it different from the traditional medical approach?
It is based in identifying and treating the root causes of mental health issues for a truly comprehensive and open-minded approach to healthy living.
It combines conventional modes of treatment with alternative modalities which provides options to each individual’s unique mental health concerns.


It pays attention to Spirituality, mind/body connections and lifestyle by:
- Introduction to various modalities of meditation, therapy as well as other alternative treatments.
- Nutrition/diet with particular attention gut microbiome. Disruptions in the gut brain axis can contribute to symptoms such as depression, anxiety, brain fog and energy levels. This is implemented through a comprehensive assessment, and tests when appropriate including genetic testing and labs.
- Identifying how individual beliefs, background and possible past trauma play a role with their health.
- Lifestyle choices such as exercise, social connections, everyday habits that contribute to positive health outcomes and identifying barriers to these.
